Nomad Idle Beginners Guide

2025-04-09

Nomad Idle throws you into slaying foes who approach from all directions. While your start in the game is very basic as you get two active skills, no gear pieces, and default stats, you unlock more features as you progress, and that is when things get overwhelming. For this, our Nomad Idle beginners' guide is here to help you have the best start in the game.

How to Unlock Summons in Nomad Idle

You'll unlock the Summons feature in Nomad Idle through theFaithful Companion Event, which becomes available inArea 2: Overrun Village. Unlike previous events that gave free crafting recipes or features, this one requires you to collect10,000 soulsbefore you can access the Summons.

How to Farm Souls Faster

Souls drop from every enemy you defeat, and the faster you kill enemies, the more souls you earn per minute. You can view the current soul count and souls-per-minute rate displayed near your mana bar at the top of the screen.

If you are trying to farm souls faster, you should focus on reaching higher Stages as you get increased enemy density at Stage 10+. This will make the process of collecting souls much faster in the game.

How to Upgrade Your Summons

Once unlocked, you'll start with theFox summon, which has four upgrade paths:

  1. Power- Increases damage
  2. Speed- Improves summon critical chance
  3. Insight- Increases the chance for your summon to use the left-click ability
  4. Acuity- Increases the chance and/or efficacy of the Summon trincket

Each upgrade costs souls, so you'll want to keep farming even after unlocking your first companion.

How to Unlock Skills in Nomad Idle

You unlock the Active/Passive skills by completing an Event in Area 3: Rat's Nest. This will then give you access to four skill slots and six passive skills that are fired automatically if the required mana is available.

While you start with the Cursor Cutter and Cursor Cyclone active skills, these passive skills will help you in slaying enemies much faster and are very useful for higher Stages and difficult Areas in the game.

There is also an option of using each passive skill to not consume too much mana. This is called Smart Casting, and pressing the right click mouse button over an assigned skill slot will enable this.

Best Skills

While all skills are powerful and really help you in slaying enemies, especially in Area 3: Rat's nest, which is where you will first encounter enemies firing from range, you will want to avoid equipping all or the ones that consume too much mana.

Curious Wisp, Colorless Glyph, and Dancing Dagger are by far the best passive skills to have in Nomad Idle. The Curious Wips launches two projectiles that orbit outwards for 5 seconds, damaging anyone coming in contact. This skill scales with Dexterity stat.

The Colorless Glyph damages enemies around you in 1 second interval for 3 seconds. It is a perfect skill when you have too many enemy melee units surrounding and hitting you. This stat scales with Dex and Wisdom.

The Dancing Dagger skill throws 4 projectiles at nearby enemies that bounce to a random enemy 2 times, ignoring all other enemies in its path. This skill has some chance of applying bleed on targets and scales with STR and Agility stats.

How to Craft Weapons and Armor in Nomad Idle

You’ll unlock theInventory/Equip/Craftfeature by reachingStage 5inThe Glentwood Areaduring the"Better Equipped"Event. Once unlocked, you’ll start with two basic items:

  • Broken Blade(Weapon)
  • Leather Tunic(Armor)

As you progress through newAreasand advance to higherStages, you’ll unlock stronger weapons and armor.

Why Crafting Matters

Gear upgrades are essential for survival in Nomad Idle, and you’ll occasionally get prompts toupgrade existing equipmentonce you’ve collected the necessary materials.

  • Weaponsimprove:
    • Base damage
    • Critical hit chance
    • Damage multiplier
  • Armorboosts:
    • Max HP
    • Defense
    • Health multiplier

Where to Find Crafting Materials

Every crafting recipe requires specificmaterials, which drop from enemies in different Areas. To check what’s available:

  1. Open theWorld Map
  2. Hover over an Area to see itsmaterial drops(e.g., Bone, Hide, Gems) andTier level(Tier 1, Tier 2, etc.).

So if you need materials forcrafting the Chainmail, then head over to a Tier 2 Area and farm enemies—they’ll drop the crafting materials that you require.

How to Get Stat Points & Upgrade Them in Nomad Idle

InNomad Idle,Stat Pointsare the key to strengthening your character. You’ll earn them by leveling up, and each point can be invested into one of seven core stats:

  • Strength
  • Dexterity
  • Agility
  • Vitality
  • Wisdom
  • Intelligence(Locked at first, unlocks later)
  • SPI(Also locked until progression)

Every time you defeat enemies, you gainexperience points (XP). Once your XP bar fills up, your character levels up and earns1 Stat Point. You can spend this point on any stat—how you distribute them depends entirely on your preferred playstyle.

Which Stats Matter Most?

While all stats have their uses, health and manaare essential for survival for longer runs. If you want a balanced build, focus on these three key stats first:

  • Vitality Boosts max HP and health regeneration
  • Wisdom Increases max mana and mana regeneration
  • Strength Enhances physical damage (helpful for longer battles)

SinceNomad Idledoesn’t have health potions or mana pickups, investing inVitality and Wisdom earlycan make your journey much smoother.

How To Get Health and Mana in Nomad Idle

When you first startNomad Idle, your mana regenerates at a very slow rate, and you won’t have any natural health regeneration. Unlike many other games, there are no health potions or pick-up items to restore your HP—so you’ll need to rely on other methods to stay alive.

The key to sustaining yourself is leveling up yourVitality stat. By defeating enemies and earning experience points, you can invest skill points into Vitality, which does two important things:

  • Increases your max HP
  • Grants health regeneration per second (HP/s)

As you level up Vitality, you’ll notice your health slowly restoring over time. The exact regeneration rate is displayed below your health bar, so you can always track how much HP you’re gaining each second.

Similarly, investing points into theWisdom statboosts your mana sustainability by:

  • Increasing your max mana pool
  • Improving mana regeneration per second (MP/s)

Later in the game, when you unlock summons, Wisdom also plays another role—it boosts yoursummon’s critical damage, making it a valuable stat for improving summon's damage output per second.

By strategically investing in these stats, you can ensure your character survives longer and casts abilities more efficiently inNomad Idle.
